M.ARCH NGUYEN THU PHONG EXCHANGES WITH STUDENTS OF THE VIETNAMESE-GERMAN UNIVERSITY

On August 7th, Arch Nguyen Thu Phong had a sharing session with the architecture students of the Vietnamese-German University on the topic “Inspiration from Idea to Architectural Design”. With his rich experience and over 20 years of reputation in the profession, Arch Nguyen Thu Phong shared interesting insights about the projects he has completed with his colleagues.

The issue of creativity in architecture is a complex and multidimensional process. During the session, he shared his approach through two processes: Architectural Shaping 1 and Architectural Shaping 2. Architectural Shaping 1 focuses on basic elements such as location, genre, function, volume, and shape - the key factors that dêtrmine the initial outline of a project. Meanwhile, Architectural Shaping 2 focuses on the creative aspects of modules, techniques, and detailed lines and sculptures. Many of his winning projects are inspired by nature, demonstrating creativity and subtlety in translating natural images into architectural language: from the imagery of rice grains, bamboo, mango, tree shapes, rivers or waterfalls to create soft, dynamic, and creative forms.

The talk show ended successfully, creating a connection and transfer of experience between the veteran architects and the young student generation, bringing inspiration and answering questions about the profession and the process of practice.
